This was a lovely project, in that it was a blend of custom build and pre-built pieces. The client had seen images of library storage made from bought, pre-built bookshelves that had then been extended, built out and fitted floor to ceiling, and as such this was what was created for them. We built custom cupboards to accommodate the electrical consumer unit and pipework in the room, then levelled differing areas to be able to join and run through a wrap-around solid oak desktop and work area. All the utilities were boxed in and an oak rear-riser cut in to finish the worktop, blending it into the shelving units. This transformed a small downstairs room into an aesthetically-pleasing office with a huge amount of storage, creating a functional space for the client.
